It's been nearly four years since their seventh full-length album, “Masquerade,” came out in January 2020, just before the Covid-19 pandemic altered the world. The EP "Youth" features seven catchy Mest tracks, including the hit single “When We Were Young” featuring Jaret Reddick from Bowling For Soup, “Hate You Sober” featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, and “Barely Hanging On" featuring Adrian Estrella of Zebrahead.

Front man Tony Lovato had this to say, "A lot of the inspiration for the songs on this EP came during my drives to the recording studio. Listening to the music from my childhood in Los Angeles brought back many memories and places that influenced the songs. Reflecting on past memories, we create new ones for the future. These songs are a tribute to the past and a celebration of what's to come."

Despite a complete lineup change with only founder Tony Lovato remaining from the original band, Mest’s new record remarkably captures the essence of their early sound—if not improving upon it. Shedding the more somber tone of their previous album, “Youth” sounds fresh and vibrant and it embodies what we want pop punk to be in 2024: melodic, catchy, and superbly structured. So hit that repeat button on what is for sure to be the sound track of the summer.

This album is Mest’s triumphant return to the spotlight, resonating nostalgia back to the die-hard fans of the good old days of Warped Tour and paying homage to young adults everywhere. EP "Youth" is now available on all digital streaming platforms and you can pre-order three different vinyl versions on SBAM Records today.
