Fear Factory & Orbit Culture are coming to San Diego Thursday January 14th at Brick By Brick with special guest Thrown Into Exile and our local heroes from San Diego Fraxures. What makes this Brick by Brick concert special is that you can call it their warm up show before both Fear Factory and Orbit Culture embark on a the Slaughter The Martøur Nørth America 2024 tour starting the next day in San Francisco with Gates to Hell and Machine Head as the headliner.
Fear Factory had a busy 2023 as they welcomed the Italian-born vocalist Milo Silvestro as the band’s new singer & Mike Heller from Havok as their new drummer. With guitarist and lone original member Dino Cazares and Tony Campo on bass, these industrial groove apparatuses from L.A. toured extensively through Europe, Untited Kingdom, and North America with such act as: Static-X, God Forbid, Dope, Lacuna Coil, Lions At the Gate, Butcher Babies, Ingnea, Mushroomhead, Twiztid, Cultus Black, and Society 1.
In June 2023, Fear Factory released an updated version of their 2012 album "The Industrialist" under the new title "Re-Industrialized". This edition includes re-recorded drum tracks by the band's previous drummer, Mike Heller, along with remixes of two album songs, namely "Recharger" and "Difference Engine." Dino Cazares re-recorded all guitar tracks with a distinct tone and made some alterations to specific musical sections in each track. Additionally, three cover songs, "Landfill," "Saturation," and "Passing Complexion," were introduced in this revised edition. Fear Factory will continue to tour heavily in 2024 and it has been stated that a new record will also come out this year.
Joining Fear Factory is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Eksjö that formed in 2013 known as Orbit Culture. Emerging from the underground music scene following the launch of their critical acclaimed album, “Nija” in 2020, these dudes have been on a tear ever since as they expand upon their dynamic sound by blending aggression, and melody with technicality.
Recognized by some fans for their funny viral heavy metal videos on social media, Orbit Culture has already booked their first headline tour of Europe and the UK this year. Let the record label biting wars begin, as they also announced completion of their commitment to the Seek and Strike record label after releasing the EP "Forgotten" on December 1st, 2023.
Thrashing at this Brick By Brick concert is Thrown into Exile. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Thrown into Exile is an American metal band who broke through in 2012 by winning the "Road to Mayhem" that secured a slot to perform on the same bill as Slipknot, Motörhead, Anthrax, and Slayer. They have two full length albums under their belt: “Safe Inside”, and “Illusion Of Control.”
In 2023 original vocalist Evan Seidlitz re- joined and Thrown Into Exile released two new singles “Dagger Within” and “You’ve Fallen So Far.” The band has opened for a number of notable bands including Sepultura, Fear Factory, Chimaira, All Shall Perish, Testament, Morbid Angel, and many more.
Fraxures is a 5-piece melodic heavy metal band from Southern California formed by members of Divine Heresy, Powerflo, BillyBio, Dead Groove, The Bloodline, and A Hero Within that will be shredding at this Brick By Brick show. Fraxures was selected as the unsigned band of the week by San Diego’s own local radio station Rock 105.3 and they also premiered their music videos on NBC following Saturday Night Live. This super group recently recorded and released their new EP “Firestone Sessions” with Billy Graziadei of Biohazard, BillyBio and Powerflo in 2022.
Collectively the band has shared the stage with touring acts such as: Of Mice & Men, Unearth, 36 Crazyfists, Death By Stereo, Escape The Fate, Norma Jean, Wage War, 96 Bitter Beings, Fit For An Autopsy, The Agony Scene, For the Fallen Dreams, Thousand Below, Butcher Babies, Gemini Syndrome, For Today, The Browning, War of Ages, Betraying the Martyrs, Westfield Massacre, Hell or Highwater, Eyes Set to Kill, etc.
